Frequently asked questions:

What exactly does a DB killer do?
A decibel killer ensures circulation of the sound waves before the vibrations reach the exit of the exhaust. This provides a dampening of the level. High tones will be less damped than very low tones. An exhaust without a damping chamber (these usually look like one long exhaust bend) is virtually impossible to dampen because the noise is too high.

How much does my motorcycle reduce noise?
Unfortunately we cannot predict this. This varies per exhaust and motorcycle model. With low sound waves the effect is always noticeable, with high sound waves damping is less effective.

Will my engine perform less?
On most motorcycles it will not be noticeable in terms of power and driving comfort (With extra damping wool it can be noticeable!). Are you experiencing problems? Then the tip is to drill some extra holes in the killer so that the pressure can be better released. Find the balance between damping and good power.

How and where do I attach the killer?
The killer is screwed with a bolt (and sometimes nut) in the end of the exhaust. If no hole is pre-drilled as standard, you will have to drill a hole yourself to attach.

How do I choose the right decibel killer?
Measure (preferably with a caliper) the diameter of the end of the exhaust. is the diameter ø45mm? Then choose the largest available killer between ø42mm-ø44mm (choose 1-3mm narrower). Also keep in mind that there is sometimes a bend or narrower slightly deeper in the exhaust.

About the batteries

Battery life may vary depending on ambient temperature. The capacity of the battery decreases as it gets colder. At temperatures below 0°C the capacity will still be +/- 80%.

To extend the life of the batteries, keep them charged to at least 25% at all times, even when the batteries are not on or in use. Consider the summer period. Therefore, charge the batteries once a month.

Tip: make a note of this in your agenda.
